The German carmaker has revealed that the Virtus Sedan and Taigun SUV are based on the Topline trims.

Volkswagen unveiled the special edition avatars of its Virtus Sedan and Taigun SUV on Monday. The automaker has introduced the Black Edition, a limited-edition version of the SUV and sedan, just a few days after the debut of the Sound Edition models. The price of both special edition cars is the same as the outgoing model. The German carmaker has only made exterior color changes to the new Black Edition cars.

Volkswagen has revealed that the Virtus Sedan and Taigun SUV are based on the Topline trims. The Virtus Topline trim is priced between INR 14.90 lakh and INR 16.48 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Taigun Topline is priced between INR 15.84 lakh and INR 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

Both the new edition iterations of the Virtus Sedan and Taigun SUV will come with a Deep Black Pearl exterior finish. Volkswagen has not made any other changes to the new edition sedan and SUV besides the glowing dark black exterior color. On the door handle, the black edition gets contrasting chrome elements. The front and back bumpers of the SUV and sedan also come with contrasting chrome elements. The manufacturer has not revealed any significant details regarding the interior of the special edition SUV and sedan.

The topline trims of the Virtus and Taigun are available in both AT and manual gearbox options. It is unclear whether the new black theme will be available for both of these variants. The Virtus Sedan and Taigun SUV are powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces peak power of 114 bhp. On the Taigun, Volkswagen is presenting a range of benefits worth up to INR 1.46 lakh, including exchange benefits of up to INR 40,000, corporate benefits of up to INR 30,000, and cash benefits of up to INR 40,000. The manufacturer is also providing special benefits of up to INR 36,000 for this SUV. These discounts and benefits are only available until the end of December 2023.
